今回はイギリス定番料理、フィッシュアンドチップス、マッシィピーズ、イギリスのクリスマス菓子、ボルシチ。ボルシチはロシア料理だけど、ロシアのツアー旅行で食べたサワークリームを使わないボルシチが美味しく、そのスープを参考に作った料理です。
みなさん、「全部、美味しかった! 」」と言ってくださる。英語でスコーンという英語版料理教室に参加してくれた二人が参加。そのうちのお一人はイギリス人の奥様。また常連さんでイギリス人の奥様も参加されていて、お二人が出会えました。常連のその方はイギリス料理を食べてもらいたくて、東京まで行こうと思ったことがあるとか。その話を聞き、刺激をうけられたご様子、ステキな出会いのお手伝いができ、私もうれしくなりました。
また、イギリス人のご主人が「フィッシュアンドチップストミンスパイが食べたい」「サンタがのっているからこれがクリスマスケーキよ。これを買おうよ。」「いや、これじゃない! 全然ちがう!」という話をしてくれました。
いつも12月になると10月から熟成させたクリスマスケーキを配ります。このお話のおかげで、より皆で味見したケーキが美味しくなりました。
I shared fish and chips , mushy peas , bolsch and mince pies. Bolsch , a russian soup I had in Russia was really good so I made a recipe and introduced it .
Everyone said “all the dishes were tasty! “Besides what I was glad most was two ladies who have English husbands met in my class. One of the two is a loyal member. She said she was eager to make British dishes for him. That story inspired the other lady.
The other lady said “My husband said “I wanted to eat fish and chips, mince pie.”” “I said “Let’s buy this christmas cake as St Nicolaus doll is put on top.This is Christmas cake in Japan,” He said” No,no! It’s not a Christmas cake! It’s completely different! ” She talked about her husband. Her stories pleased everyone.
This talk was a pinch of love and seasoning for my cake. I always give a piece of my christmas cake to participants in December. The chat made my cake fantastic. I think it is tasty more than ever.
